Edinburg Motorsports Park is entering a new chapter in its history after being announced as the newest member of the NHRA Member Track Network in the South Central Division. The announcement is a major milestone for the South Texas racing community and gives local racers another opportunity to compete in NHRA-sanctioned programs.
Located in Edinburg, Texas, Edinburg Motorsports Park has continued to grow since opening, building a strong following among racers and fans throughout the Rio Grande Valley. The track is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2026, making the timing of its partnership with NHRA even more special.
The facility recently hosted its first NHRA event, which included the awarding of a special NHRA 75th Anniversary Diamond Wally. The weekend brought racers and fans together and gave Edinburg a chance to showcase what its facility and racing community have to offer.
Becoming an NHRA member track opens the door to several new opportunities. Edinburg Motorsports Park will be eligible to host programs such as the NHRA Summit Racing Equipment E.T. Series, NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League, NHRA Street Legal and NHRA Jr. Street. The track can also have opportunities to host specialty events such as the NHRA Summit King of the Track.
For racers in South Texas, this could be a major step forward. Instead of having to travel long distances to participate in NHRA programs, competitors in the Rio Grande Valley will have an NHRA member track much closer to home. It also gives younger racers an opportunity to become involved in NHRA competition through its junior programs.
The partnership is also important for the future of Edinburg Motorsports Park itself. With NHRA support programs, insurance benefits and national marketing opportunities available through the Member Track Network, the track has another set of resources to help continue its growth.
Edinburg Motorsports Park owner Albert Rodriguez said joining NHRA feels like coming home and that the track is excited to bring NHRA competition back to the facility. With NHRA celebrating its 75th anniversary and Edinburg Motorsports Park celebrating 10 years, the partnership marks an important moment for both organizations.
