INDIANAPOLIS — September 8, 2026 — The NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series has officially entered its championship stretch following a dramatic Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals, with the sport's top competitors now turning their attention toward the six-race Countdown to the Championship.

The 14th and final event of the 2026 regular season delivered major victories across the professional categories. Shawn Langdon captured the Top Fuel title, Jack Beckman won in Funny Car, Dallas Glenn took Pro Stock honors, and Matt Smith claimed victory in Pro Stock Motorcycle competition.

The Indianapolis event carried added importance because the U.S. Nationals serves as the gateway to the NHRA playoffs. With the regular season complete, Countdown-eligible drivers now have their championship points reset as the battle for the world titles enters its decisive phase.

Langdon Leads the Charge

Langdon's victory in Top Fuel highlighted an event where every round carried significant championship implications. The U.S. Nationals victory gives the Top Fuel field fresh momentum heading into the six-race postseason, where consistency and pressure management will become just as important as outright speed.

Funny Car produced another headline as Beckman emerged victorious, while the Pro Stock class saw Glenn add another major win to his 2026 campaign. Smith's Pro Stock Motorcycle triumph completed a four-category sweep of winners at one of the biggest events on the NHRA calendar.
